Lighthouse & Ruins

Take off from the Hastings River mouth and track out through the heads, past The Town Green and down the coast. Check out Town, Flynns and Shelly Beaches on the way to the breathtaking Lighthouse.

Head further south spotting dolphins and whales along the Lighthouse Beach stretch before cutting inland over Innes Lake and the Historic Ruins. We climb up and take in the spectacular views of the Hastings Hinterland and Port Macquarie Township before returning for a landing at the river mouth.

Laurieton & Camden Haven

This flight takes in all the great sights of the Lighthouse and Ruins scenic flight but also extends down along the coast past the townships of Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills, all the way to North Haven and Laurieton. We take a look at the beautiful waterways of this area, set against a backdrop of North and South Brother Mountains and the Camden Haven River.

We travel back via Queens Lake and take advantage of the extra air time to look around for more whales and dolphins on the way home.

For those amongst us who appreciate a slightly different view of the world, we take a rock and roll approach to the Laurieton and North Haven scenic flight.

We get down between the trees and then land on the Camden Haven River, taking-off and flying out between the Brothers Mountains for a much closer look at Queens Lake and surrounding areas.

For those who want a taste of the extreme, Akuna Seaplanes joins forces with Port Water Rats, to take you on the best thrill ride combination you will ever experience!

Depart the waterfront in the Port Water Rats Special Forces boat for 20 minutes of hard-core, high-powered action on the water… if this thing had wings it would fly!!

Whale Watching

At Akuna Seaplanes, we can offer the most impressive view of the annual whale migration between the cold southern waters and the warmer waters in QLD. Between June and October, these huge animals make their way along the east coast of Australia to give birth in the protected and warmer waters of Hervey Bay, then journey south again taking their young with them.
